I painted a madonna with child, in this case the symbol of life and birth. Everythin, the woman with child and the landscape drenched in water. Water as giver of life and of culture. It’s an image of the promised land, for some a normal situation, something they don’t think for many an utopia.

A few years ago I retired from a regular job, opended an artstudio in combination with a coffeebar and started to develop my ideas about painting art.
Art has always been in the center of my thinking although not always in my professional life. I found a way of expressing myself in painting. I’m mostly inspired by classical and modern art and use elements from art in combination with my memories to tell my story.
I stylize forms to give them another meaning and create a poetic composition.

Deze kunst is gemaakt in het verlengde van SDG doel 6 : Schoon drinkwater & Sanitaire voorzieningen. Miljoenen mensen hebben nog altijd geen toegang tot schoon drinkwater of kampen met extreem slechte sanitaire mogelijkheden. Hierdoor komt de gezondheid en veiligheid van veel mensen in het geding.
